Landscape Architect

Professional licensure preparation designed for landscape architects seeking to meet national LARE requirements and state-specific regulatory standards.

Landscape Architect Licensure Examination Preparation

Landscape architect licensure requires successful completion of the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) and, in certain jurisdictions, additional state-specific examinations. This section provides structured preparation aligned with national exam blueprints and applicable regulatory requirements.

LARE Section 1

Focuses on project management, site inventory, stakeholder engagement, and physical and contextual analysis required to evaluate existing site conditions prior to design.

LARE Section 2

Focuses on planning and design development, including site planning, programming, conceptual design, and integration of environmental, regulatory, and user considerations.

LARE Section 3

Focuses on the preparation of construction documentation, detailing, technical coordination, and administration responsibilities necessary to implement design intent during the construction phase.

LARE Section 4

Covers grading design, drainage systems, stormwater management principles, and evaluation of site modifications to ensure safe, functional, and code-compliant site performance.

State Landscape Architecture Exams

Some states require additional examinations beyond the national LARE to evaluate knowledge of state-specific statutes, regulatory frameworks, and professional practice standards applicable within that jurisdiction.

California Supplemental Exam (CSE)

Assesses knowledge of California-specific laws, regulations, professional practice standards, and administrative procedures required for landscape architect licensure within the state.

Florida Section F

Focuses on Florida plant materials, environmental systems, state regulatory frameworks, and professional responsibilities required for licensure within Florida.

For most candidates beginning the licensure process, preparation starts with LARE Section 1. Structured, blueprint-aligned review of foundational competencies provides a disciplined starting point for progressing through subsequent examination sections.
